    Registration at 9 a.m. | Ride starts at 9:45 a.m. * Great for single riders or families
  3. Family Walk & Stroll (approx. 3.5 km)
    Registration at 9:30 a.m. | Starts at 10 a.m. * A walk for the whole family

Easter Egg Hunt Durham Region

Easter Egg Hunt in Whitby

When: Saturday, April 4th, 2015, 10:00am-11:00am
Where: Whitburn Park. (Beside Jack Miner Public School, 2 minutes southwest of Brock and Taunton, Whitburn Street, Whitby)
Cost: Free

Free Easter Egg Hunt. Saturday April 4th, 2015 at 10:00 am. Whitburn Park in Whitby. Free for children up to grade 5. Over 500 Eggs and Chocolates! Treats for parents too!

Brooklin Scouting Easter Egg & Scavenger Hunt

When:  Saturday, April 4th, 2015, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
Where: Brooklin Kinsmen Park (Behind the Library at 8 Vipond St)
Cost: $5 per participant

The Scouts from 1 st and 2nd Brooklin are hosting an Easter Egg and Scavenger Hunt. For boys and girls aged 7 and younger, eggs will be hidden in the grass. Look for the specially marked ones for instant win prizes or gather the most number of eggs for one of the bigger prizes. For youth aged 8 to 13, test your keen eye sight and knowledge about the Environment, Nature, current story characters, Scouting and Brooklin by joining the Scavenger Hunt! Everyone is welcome! Bring your family, friends and neighbours! You can come with a group or by yourself. Loot bags for all participants and prizes for top scavengers and most eggs collected Crests for all Scouting / Guiding members.

Easter Parade in Pickering

Where: Venue: Parade Route: East on Annland St. at Liverpool Rd. to Krosno Blvd. and along Krosno to Bayly St. in Pickering.

The R.C.L, Branch 606 & the Ladies Auxiliary proudly present the Annual Easter Parade. Put on your best Easter bonnet, decorate your bike, wagon or doll carriage to win great prizes! Free lunch and activities at the Legion after.

Community Easter Egg Hunt in Ajax

The Oshawa Airport Lions Club is pleased to host the Oshawa Airport Lions Club. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon hunting candy-filled Easter Egg, visiting with the Easter Bunny, and playing games. Easter Bunny arrives by airplane at 1pm.

Santa is coming to town

Oshawa’s Christmas Tree Lighting

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting has been a tradition in Oshawa for over 30 years.

While entering the park listen to the wonderful sounds of the Oshawa Civic Band as they play their musical instruments.

What better way to start the holiday season than with FREE hot chocolate (bring your own mug), great entertainment for all ages, church bells, lighting a Christmas tree and a visit from a very special guest in Red, along with his elves!

Christmas in the Village in Brooklin


When: Friday, November 28, 2014, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Experience the essence of an "Old Time Christmas" at Downtown Brooklin's Christmas in the Village. The weekend of events begins on Friday evening at Grass Park at 6:00 p.m. Santa, his reindeer and friends help light the Christmas tree (around 6:30 pm).


Santa Claus Parade in Ajax

Where:                                 Bayly Street and Mackenzie ending at Town Hall


Once again, Ajax residents and visitors are invited to come out and welcome Santa when he arrives in town for “Santa’s Magical Parade of Lights”. The parade begins at the intersection of Bayly Street and Mackenzie Avenue, proceeding east along Bayly and then north on Harwood Avenue South, concluding at Ajax Town Hall. Immediately following the parade will be a special tree lighting ceremony at Town Hall (65 Harwood Avenue South) with children’s activities. Whitby's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

When:                  December 5, 2014, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where:                 Whitby Public Library, Celebration Square, 405 Dundas Street West


Watch Celebration Square come alight when we kick off the holiday season with the annual Christmas tree lighting.   Families can enjoy caroling, seasonal  entertainment, crafts and activities, hot chocolate and cookies.   Please bring an unwrapped toy as we launch the Stuff -a-Bug Toy Drive.   Enjoy evenings in the square throughout the season.


Whitby’s Santa Claus Parade

When:                  December 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. - Noon

Where:                 Brock Street

Approximately 20,000 people line Brock Street each year to watch the marching bands, dance groups, floats, clowns and musical entertainment - all in anticipation of catching a glimpse of Santa Claus and his reindeer.

The parade is operated by JCI Durham, a membership-based non-profit organization of young people aged 18 to 40 years, who seek targeted solutions to unique problems in the community.

Both JCI Durham and the Whitby Chamber of Commerce judge the best parade entries, which can be viewed on the JCI website. The best overall entry is announced at the Parade Awards Dinner in January.

Running for a good cause

Join hundreds of community members in the annual Lions Walk/Run for Happiness. Walk or run 1K/5K along the Ontario Shores waterfront grounds to support mental health efforts. There will be food for participants as well as music and entertainment for anyone else who would like to come out and show support for mental health. Speakers and speeches by local celebrities afterwards. Participation will impact the service and care provided by three deserving organizations: The Canadian Mental Health Association, The Markham Stouffville Hospital, and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. All Ages, $10 registration, $30 family of four
